Poroshenko Hoping Agreement On Peaceful Resolution Of Donbas Conflict Will Be Reached During Wednesday Talks In Minsk
President Petro Poroshenko is hoping that an agreement on peaceful resolution of the conflict in Donbas will be reached during the talks taking place in Minsk (Belarus) on Wednesday. The press service of the president of Ukraine announced this in a statement, пишет издание «ukranews.com».
"Today, the peace process in Ukraine is associated with Minsk. I hope that today's meeting will meet the best expectations," the press service quoted Poroshenko as saying during a brief meeting with President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenka.
Poroshenko stressed that the whole world was expecting the Minsk meeting in the "Normandy format" to result in de-escalation, a ceasefire, and withdrawal of troops.
Poroshenko thanked Lukashenka for his personal involvement in and indifference to the peace process in Ukraine.
As Ukrainian News earlier reported, Poroshenko has traveled to Minsk for talks with Russian President Vladimir Putin, German Chancellor Angela Merkel, and French President Francois Hollande.
